The School for Cultural and Social Transformation offers a range of support for faculty.

Unless otherwise specified, the term faculty refers to both tenure-line and career line faculty. Faculty with below 0.5 FTE in Transform receive support at the 0.5 FTE level. We encourage faculty to seek matching funds from their other departments or divisions.


Book Subventions: $1000/$500 (rolling deadline)

Transform is pleased to offer funding support to help faculty cover translation costs and permission fees for art and photographs in their academic books. 

For faculty whose appointments are fully in Transform, up to $500 (based on available funds) will be offered from the home Division with up to $500 (based on available funds) matching support from the Transform Dean’s Office.  For faculty with a ½ time appointment in Transform, up to $250 (based on available funds) will be offered from the Division with up to $250 (based on available funds) matching support from the Transform Dean’s Office.

To access these funds, simply contact your chair and ADR, and send along a full and final contract for your book, along with cost estimates and/or invoices.


Case by Case Funding: Additional costs associated with publishing: $250 (rolling deadline)

There are other costs associated with publishing scholarly works at various stages of the publication process.  The ADR and the Research Committee will review applications for these costs on a rolling basis. The maximum funding amount is $250. Each project can receive this support only once, and faculty members are only eligible for support through this mechanism once every five years.
