Disability Studies Reading Group

November 19, 2021

12:00 pm – 1:30 pm

We welcome anyone curious about disability studies, interested in exploring how it relates to their fields, or discussing how disability is shaped by race, class, gender, and sexuality. No knowledge of the field is required!

Brown bag: please feel welcome to eat your lunch!

Join us to discuss excerpts from the Asian American Literary Review’s “Open in Emergency,” a Special Issue on Asian American Mental Health, edited by Mimi Khúc. A veritable hack of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM), this “hybrid book art project that decolonizes mental health” radically reorients to wellness, unwellness, and care. (Recommended Pages: Framing/Masthead and 4-12, 43-58, 80-91, 100-116, 125-159)
