The School for Cultural and Social Transformation offers interdisciplinary degrees and programs in Ethnic Studies, Gender Studies, Disability Studies and Pacific Islands Studies. Our academic fields explore race and racism, ethnicity, gender, sexuality and sexual identity, (dis)ability, health and global diasporas and how they intersect to shape historical, cultural, political and lived realities of groups who have often been marginalized and disenfranchised. Our strength comes from our interdisciplinarity and our intersectional approach to contemporary concerns. Our fields emerged from historical struggles and, today, community engagement is a core ethos of our school. We aspire to transform our communities so they are just, inclusive and equitable places where all people thrive. Our degrees and certificates empower students, whatever their career path, to engage in real-world change.
